As we begin the month of April, we are excited to announce the official launch of the Resilient and Empowered Adolescents through Social and Emotional Learning (REASEL) Programme in Tororo and Bugiri districts in Eastern Uganda. This program is part of our mission at JMERC to empower vulnerable youth in rural communities, helping them unlock their full potential and build the foundations for a brighter future.
At JMERC, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for youth to thrive. Our REASEL Programme is designed to nurture resilience, emotional intelligence, and life skills among adolescents, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in school, at home, and in the broader community.
The REASEL Programme is not just an initiative; it’s a movement aimed at shaping the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers in Uganda. By equipping adolescents with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive, we are creating a ripple effect that will positively impact not only their lives but also the communities they belong to.
Our programme focuses on building emotional intelligence and resilience in youth, enabling them to:
These competencies will empower young people to tackle challenges head-on and succeed in the face of adversity.
We envision a future where every child and youth has access to quality education, skills development opportunities, and the emotional support they need to thrive. The REASEL Programme plays a crucial role in tackling pressing issues like school dropouts, substance abuse, and emotional instability, all of which significantly affect youth in Uganda.
By fostering resilience and emotional intelligence, we are not only addressing immediate educational gaps but also promoting sustainable development in the communities of Tororo and Bugiri. Our aim is to create an environment where young people can grow, excel, and contribute to the betterment of their society.
Building Strong Partnerships for Lasting Impact
We are deeply grateful for the warm reception and support from district leaders, educators, and stakeholders in both Tororo and Bugiri districts. Their enthusiasm and commitment to our mission reinforce the power of collaboration and community engagement. Together, we are poised to make a lasting impact in the lives of Ugandan youth.
As we continue to grow the REASEL Programme, we are reminded that empowering youth is a collective responsibility. We invite individuals, organizations, and communities to join us in this journey, sharing our vision of a world where all children and youth can learn, achieve, and thrive.
We invite you to join the movement—whether you’re an individual, a partner organization, or a community leader, your support is crucial to the success of this program. Together, we can create a brighter future for Uganda’s youth.
