Understandaing & Supporting Adolescent Girls, Social & Emmotional Wellbeing
This study highlights the crucial role of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in improving the well-being and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) of adolescent girls, especially in the global south. Using a feminist Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with 158 girls in Eastern Uganda, it identifies key SEL skills necessary for girls’ social and emotional well-being and empowerment. The study calls for comprehensive support systems in schools and tailored strategies to empower girls. It emphasises the need for policy advocacy to enhance sexual and reproductive health (SRH), well-being, and overall empowerment.
